Policy Agreement

Client Services Agreement
Pet Sitting / Dog Walking Service Agreement

This agreement is between Buckhead Paws Dog Walking and Pet Sitting Services of Atlanta, LLC, and the client. The client agrees to the following:

Initial Meet and Greet: This complimentary consultation is a personal meeting, a time for us to learn about your pets' unique personalities, routines, schedules, and environments. It's our hope to begin a lasting relationship with you and your pet(s) that day. If services are agreed to, we'll collect 2 complete sets of keys and gate accessories at that time.

Key Policy: Client agrees to provide two working copies of house keys at time of consultation. One copy is for your pet care provider, and the other is kept in a secure key safe in our office, in case we need to send a back-up sitter or if you are locked out. If two copies are not provided, there will be a $10 key copying charge. We are happy to provide Emergency Key Lock-Out Service for a charge of $30.

If you live in a gated/secured community, we request direct access to the property by way of cards/clickers/ fobs/parking passes/etc. Calling remotely from the gate is not a surefire, guaranteed plan for entry and is highly undependable.

If you prefer not to keep your keys on file with us, there is a key pick-up / return charge of $25.

Alarm Policy: We must have the alarm code, password, and alarm company name and phone number in our secure online reservation system. If we do not have this information in our system, we cannot be responsible for any false alarms. Alarms must be in good working condition with no keys sticking or not working properly.

Scheduling Policy: We ask clients to schedule reservations through our online scheduling software, Precise Pet Care. Reservation requests are approved and confirmed via Precise Pet Care within 24 hours. You will receive an email confirmation letting you know the assigned pet sitter for each visit. To access the scheduling software, login to BuckheadPaws.com and sign in as an existing client. Reservations must be made directly via the online scheduling portal, telephone or email. Please do not make reservations or scheduling changes directly with sitter. Sitter will ask you to schedule directly with the office to ensure accuracy and to have a backup plan in place in case of an emergency.

Client/Pet Information: At the time of registration, client chooses a user name and password to Precise Pet Care scheduling software. Scheduling is accessed from the Buckhead Paws website by clicking the "Existing Client" tab. It is the client's responsibility to update their client information, including emergency contact information and pet details, veterinarian information, and feeding instructions. Pet sitters will follow these detailed instructions to provide the best care for your pets.

Payment Policy: Credit card payments for services are to be processed the day before service begins, unless other arrangements are made at the time of consultation. Buckhead Paws accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express for payment for service. We also accept cash or checks made payable to “Buckhead Paws”.

Same-Day Surcharge: A surcharge of $10 will apply for same-day service requests on weekdays. Last-minute requests for service within three hours or less, or on weekends or holidays, will have a surcharge of $15.

Holiday Surcharge: YES, we work holidays! Please note that we charge time-and-a-half for the following holidays:
•New Year's Eve
•New Year's Day
•Easter Weekend
•Memorial Day Weekend
•July 3, 4, and 5
•Labor Day Weekend
•Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday
•Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and the Day after Christmas

Cancellation Policy: We are proud to have one of the most flexible cancellation policies in the Atlanta area for Daily Dog Walks: If the client cancels a Daily Dog Walk before 8:30am on the day of the visit, we will cancel the visit, and the resulting credit will be applied towards a future visit. No cancellation charge. After 8:30am on the day of the scheduled visit, there is a 50% cancellation charge.

Vacation Pet Sitting canceled after 6:00pm the evening before we begin service will incur a cancellation fee equal to the cost of the first visit.

Overnight Pet Sitting canceled after 6:00pm the evening before we begin will forfeit the first night's payment.

For holiday visits, cancellations received less than 72 hours in advance will incur a cancellation fee equal to one day's charges.

Others in Your Home: Please notify us if contractors, housekeepers, guests, etc. will be in your home when we arrive. Knowing when to expect others minimizes unnecessary surprise and alarm (it happens more often than you might think!).

Sorry, but we do not share pet care assignments with family members, neighbors, or other sitters. For us to assume responsibility for your pet(s), we must be the sole caregiver. This will insure consistency in the scheduling of care for your pet, allow us to provide optimum care while you are away, and avoid any confusion about who had responsibility should there be an issue.

Medical Emergencies: In the event of a medical crisis with your pet, we'll contact you immediately, and then taxi your pet to your preferred vet for emergency care; however, if you are unreachable, we'll assume responsibility to secure necessary services for your pet's health. If your preferred vet is unavailable, we'll take your pet to the closest vet or BluePearl Specialty & Emergency Pet Hospital. All fees associated with emergency care will be billed to you in full — cost of emergency care, doctor prescribed medications, and pet-taxi service.

Back-Up Sitter: In the event of personal emergency, illness, or injury to the pet sitter providing your pet care, Client authorizes Buckhead Paws to arrange for a back-up sitter to take over duties as outlined in this agreement.

Photos: Client agrees to allow Buckhead Paws to take photos of Client's pet(s) for their file and for business website and social media. Buckhead Paws warrants that no family names or addresses will be shared. All photos taken are the property of Buckhead Paws.

Frequency of Visits: No more than twenty-four hours can elapse between visits for cats or exotic pets. For dogs, we highly recommend a minimum of three visits per day, but will not do any fewer than two visits per twenty-four hours. We cannot skip visits or come every other day. This is to ensure that both the animals and your home are safe and well. We will schedule visits based on the leaving and returning home date.

Gratuities: While never expected, gratuities are a great way to let your pet sitter know you appreciate their efforts. You can leave a gratuity through Precise Pet Care, or you can leave cash or a check made out in their name.

Client Home Care Needs: Buckhead Paws is not responsible for wilted, dead or otherwise unhealthy plants. Pet sitters will work hard to follow written instructions as precisely as possible, but cannot be responsible if the results are not favorable to the Client.

Further, Buckhead Paws is not responsible for damage done to the home which is beyond the control of the pet sitter. This includes, but is not limited to: electrical problems, leaks, and acts of nature. Buckhead Paws is not responsible for any damage to the property or home of the Client, unless such damage is caused by the negligent act of Buckhead Paws.

Client agrees to secure home prior to leaving. Buckhead Paws will re-secure the home according to Client instructions at the end of each visit. Buckhead Paws is not liable for any loss or damage in the event of a burglary or other crime that should occur while under this contract.

Client is responsible for pet-proofing house and yard and security fences/gates/latches. Buckhead Paws will not be responsible for the safety of pet(s) with unsupervised access to the outdoors, and will not be liable for the death, injury, disappearance or legal consequences of any pet(s) with unsupervised access to the outdoors.

Terms: The terms of this agreement apply to all pets owned by the Client, including all new pets that the Client obtains on or after the date that this contract was signed, at any and all locations the Client designates for service.

Additionally, this is the entire agreement between the two parties, and it can only be amended and changed by agreement of both parties. It is a binding agreement, and it is understood that time is of the essence in all undertakings. Finally, this agreement shall be governed and interpreted by the Laws of the State of Georgia.
